If you are looking for something special we can help you!
Here is some info on how it works and how we can help you. How does it work? You tell us what you are looking for. Age, height, budget, mare/gelding. We look in our barn, around the club we are at, talk to trusted friends in the business, and put together a list of horses that meet the criteria you gave us. Then you come try them! Ride/stick n ball the whole group day one, narrow it down to which ones you want to play day two, and narrow it down one last time on which ones you want to play a second time. Then vet the one or ones that you love. We set all of this up for you at each location. We organize the chukkers, the horses, and the vet checks. Where is best to come try horses? Summer and Winter have proven the best options for us so far for buying and selling. Indio, California in the winter and Sheridan, Wyoming in the summer. All of the polo happens in a central location so it is easy to scout horses, try horses, and show horses. Both places are also nice vacation destinations! Winter: El Dorado and Empire Polo Clubs Summer: Big Horn Polo Club What is the cost? You will have to pay the visitor clubs fees for polo, your own travel and lodging, purchase price of the horse, vet check if you decide to do one, and 10% of the purchase price to us for doing all of the leg work. |
Have a horse that just isn't the right fit for you? Upgrading? Getting out of Polo? We can help you sell your horse!
How does it work? We take in a select few consignment horses each year to sell. We will try the horse or go by trusted recommendations from friends in the business to decide if we will take the horse on. We want to give the horse and it's owner the best possible chance for a quick sale! If we decide to take the horse it will go into our care and be shown to sell. We make sure the horse is fit, looks presentable, is riding and playing well, and then line up the buyers. We communicate this whole process to you as it occurs. What is the cost? Option 1- Owner covers all expenses on the horse, which vary per location, and then pay us 10% of the sale price at the point of sale. The easiest way to do the monthly expenses is to pay a monthly "board" cost. Keeps the cost consistent for you and for us. Option 2- HVF covers the expenses of the horse, minus any vet expenses, and the horse is used in our string to pay for the expenses. In order for this to work the horse has to be suitable for either program. 15% of the sale price is paid to HVF at the point of sale. Horses must be priced $15k or greater to qualify. Where is the best location to sell my horse? Big Horn in the summer has the lowest cost in expenses for the owner and there are usually quite a few people that come there specifically to shop for horses each year. Indio in the winter has the highest cost in expenses for the owner but probably the biggest probability of selling the horse. There are people from all over the country in and out all season and many people come there to shop for horses. |
